Dr Mochamad Lutfi Firdaus will carry out research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) on the biogeochemistry of heavy metals in aquatic environments.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Padjajaran University (1997), a master’s in environmental engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology (2000), and a doctorate degree from Kyoto University in environmental chemistry (2007).
Dr Firdaus works as a lecturer in the Graduate School of Science Education at the University of Bengkulu.
