Monica is an executive director at Yayasan Alam Sehat Lestari (ASRI), an NGO that dovetails human and environmental health, located at the rainforest border of Gunung Palung National Park, North Kayong, West Kalimantan. She earned her Bachelor’s and professional degrees in dentistry from Universitas Indonesia in 2010 and 2012.
She wants to pursue a Master’s degree in health policy and management since she is interested in health policy making process and structures, as well as good management principles and practices in healthcare services.
Upon completion of her Master’s degree program, she intends to return and to work with the local health department in North Kayong, so that she can continue and extend her current work in non-profit sector to the wider community through the government healthcare service system.
For her Master’s degree program, Monica is placed at Harvard University to study public health.
