For his Fulbright Doctoral Degree Scholarship, Muhammad Al Azis Bachrun studies electrical engineering at the North Carolina State University.  His focus is power electronics. He wants to study how solid-state transformers can be the backbone of an electrical grid with high penetration of renewable energy sources.

He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees in electrical engineering from Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Muhammad is a lecturer at Universitas Islam Indonesia in Yogyakarta.
