January presented exciting opportunities for students and teachers at SMK Negeri 1.

During a flag ceremony, students learned about the upcoming Words Competition and the opportunity to compete with students around Indonesia in Jakarta. ETA Nathan Danielson created a registration website for students to register for the competition.

Also announced was the return of the English Club for this upcoming semester. Beyond normal English-learning games and activities, students had the opportunity for an information session about the upcoming competition. To encourage participation and preparation for Words, students will work on story-telling, story-books, and English pronunciation and presentation throughout February at the English Club.

In other good news, teachers showed renewed interest in the return of Teacher’s English Club. The headmaster, administration, and a number of teachers attended to learn how to introduce themselves, talk about the school, and describe their daily activities and responsibilities.

The holiday proved to be a renewing period for Nathan, his teachers, and school to have the spirit for a new semester full of exciting activities.
