Rachel Thompson is a PhD student in Social Anthropology at Harvard University.
Jakarta’s notorious flooding has intrigued her to conduct research entitled “Jakarta: The Socio-Ecology of a Flood-Prone Metropolis” under the Fulbright Student Research grant. She tries to understand the environmental history of Jakarta region and studies the localized survival strategies of people affected by annual flooding.
She will be supported by Universitas Tarumanegara in Jakarta during her project.
