Rakhmat is a lecturer at the Industrial Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya, Malang. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung and Master’s degree in manufacturing management from Linkoping University, Sweden in 2007 and 2010.

His interest in manufacturing has inspired him to pursue a PhD program in industrial engineering with a focus on supply chain management. He believes supply chain management through logistics is crucial in supporting successful manufacturing operations.

Upon the completion of his degree program, he plans to return to his home institution to conduct high quality research projects as supply chain expert. He also intends to pursue a government position to contribute to policy making that supports and advances national industry.

For his Fulbright Doctoral degree program in industrial and manufacturing systems engineering, Rakhmat is placed at University of Missouri-Columbia.
