Shofi Andari is originally from Malang, East Java. She is currently pursuing her doctoral study in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) Program at Iowa State University of Science and Technology. She hopes to conduct research on bioinformatics as she is always interested in data science to solve biological questions and in Indonesia, it is just about time for this field of study to be substantial especially in a rapid development of medicine technologies.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in statistics frin Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB) in 2010 and a master’s degree also in statistics from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya. Prior to her Fulbright award, she is a teaching staff at Department of Statistics, ITS, Surabaya.
