ETA Amanda Cahn joined SMA Don Bosco Padang in celebrating its 64th anniversary this month. The festivities commenced on August 29th, 2018 with Don Bosco’s multi-day festival “The Colorful of Life.” Day 1 of the festival began in the evening after classes had already ended. Vendors set up booths throughout the school, where they sold food, drinks, clothing, and accessories. The first acts were a singing competition and fashion show, which included absolutely gorgeous and intricate clothing.
ETA Sophia Lopresti stopped by for the Day 2 dance competition and cosplay performances, in which students and judges alike dressed up as well-known anime characters such as Cardcaptor Sakura and Kakashi Naruto. Day 3 was the final day of the festival and began with band competitions and a large cake served in front of the entire school.
In the evening, ETAs Alexander Lopez-Perez and Peter Bensen also made their way to SMA Don Bosco Padang from Bukitinggi and Payakumbuh, respectively, to see the famous Indonesian pop singer Marion Jola perform in the school auditorium. What a sight! 18-year-old Marion Jola was an Indonesian Idol finalist this year and now has almost two million followers on Instagram. Although the ETAs had not heard of her before, the students went absolutely wild as they watched the Indonesian version of Kylie Jenner sing covers of American pop songs as well as some of her own music. The celebration concluded with a large student dance party featuring DJ Alieef Putra’s electronic dance music and hip-hop set.
