The week before Thanksgiving in the United States, ETA Anna Ringheiser shared a story of the first Thanksgiving with the kids in the English Club for Kids. Anna used this as an opportunity to teach about the history of the first Thanksgiving, and also draw attention to the history of native peoples in the United States. For the meeting the day before Thanksgiving, the students, Anna, and her counterpart shared food potluck style and made hand turkeys, practicing English by writing things they are thankful for. Anna also gave a presentation on how Thanksgiving is celebrated in America today, with emphasis on all of the amazing food!
