Umi is a lecturer and a researcher at STKIP PGRI Jombang, East Java. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English language education from Universitas Negeri Malang and Master’s degree in educational science from University of Groningen in 2006 and 2010.

She would like to pursue a Doctoral degree in teaching, learning, and technology (TLT). Her proposed study is related to the fact that technology has become an indispensable element in students’ everyday life.

Upon completion of the doctoral degree program, she intends to return to STKIP PGRI Jombang to share and socialize the results of her work through books and other publications, workshops, seminars, and conferences.

For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in technology in education and second language acquisition, Umi is placed at University of South Florida.
