Dr Binahayati will research the professional competence of nearly graduated social work students in the United States as part of a comparative study of students in Indonesia and the United States at Duke University.

She is a lecturer in the Social Welfare Department, Padjadjaran University, where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in social welfare.  With a Fulbright grant at SUNY Albany, she earned her master’s degree. At the same university, she pursued her doctorate.

Her research interests are social work education and practice, child welfare, social policy, and gender-based violence.
