Boniesta is a lecturer at Universitas Mataram. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in English education from Universitas Mataram in 2003 and Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) studies from University of Queensland in 2008.

Her educational background and her current career in English education has inspired her to pursue a PhD in TESOL. As knowledge of vocabulary is central to second language learning and instruction, her proposed research is to assess receptive and productive vocabulary size and the application of vocabulary learning strategies of different proficiency levels.

Upon the completion of the program, she intends to return to her home institution where she will teach English as a second language and conduct research on second language learning as preparation for her long term goal as a professor and practitioner in the field.

For her Fulbright Doctoral degree program in TESOL, Boniesta is placed at University of Central Florida.
