Dr. Andri Frediansyah is researching microbiology at the University of Florida. He is studying how metabolomic and genome mining can be used to discover natural products from new halophilic microbes in the Kakaban Saline Lake in East Kalimantan.
He is a senior researcher at the Research Center for Food Processes and Technology, National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN). He earned his bachelor’s in biology from Universitas Gadjah Mada, a master’s in applied biological sciences from Chulabhorn Graduate Institute, Thailand, and a PhD in pharmaceutical biology from Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen, Germany.
