Dr. Cut Rullyani

Dr. Cut Rullyani is a researcher at the Electronics Research Center, National Agency for Research and Innovation (BRIN), Bandung. She earned her bachelor’s degree in naval architecture and a master’s degree in metallurgy and materials engineering, both from Universitas Indonesia. Her second master’s degree in materials science was earned from the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and her doctoral degree in the same field from National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan.

As a Fulbright Visiting Scholar, she conducts research in materials science at the University of Southern California, focusing on environmentally friendly materials for sensors that detect Escherichia coli (E. coli), a bacterium that can contaminate food and cause illness. The research aims to support the development of faster, more effective food safety testing methods while advancing sensor technology and expertise that are currently not widely available in Indonesia.
