Dr. Yushinta Fujaya Muskar is undertaking research in fisheries management at the Smithsonian Institution in the area of blue crab management and conservation in the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. She believes that her research on the conservation management of crabs in the US can later yield valuable information for the conservation management of Indonesian commercial crabs. In addition, she will initiate long-term institutional collaboration in fisheries and crab research and management with US partners.

Dr Yushinta is a lecturer at Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in fisheries. She graduated from Institut Pertanian Bogor with her master’s and doctorate in reproductive biology.
