Elena Dietz will be teaching at SMKN 4 Malang in East Java. She recently graduated from Drake University with degrees in International Business and Sociology. She was inspired to apply for the ETA program after spending two years teaching adult refugees English in the Des Moines, IA area. For Elena, teaching English is a way to not only connect with students as a teacher, but also to connect with them over the shared experience of cultural exchange. Elena is excited to begin teaching in Indonesia for the same reason. Outside of teaching, Elena enjoys hiking, reading, and trying any new food she can get her hands on!
