February was an exciting month for ETA Khalid Osman. It began with a local chess tournament for SMA and SMP students in Boyolali. The following Wednesday, he was invited to a farewell English Club meeting at SMA Bhinneka Karya 2 by his mentee. During the same week, he attended a lecture on sustainability hosted by German and Japanese students.

Over the course of several weeks, Khalid rehearsed with a local hip-hop group for the Charity of Minority concert. On February 17th, he travelled with his English Club to visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, Candi Borobudur. The group spent the morning “tourist hunting” and touring a museum dedicated to the seafaring people of Indonesia.

The weekend after, he summited Gunung Merapi with fellow ETA Sam Chen and former ETA Jonthon Coulson. Tuesday, February 20th, Khalid prepared a seminar for English Teachers in Boyolali with the help of Pak Giarto. The seminar covered a wide range of topics to facilitate English language learning within the classroom.

The month culminated with the WORDS competition which produced many talented students showcasing their hard work and preparation.
