In the month of December, during the school holiday, ETA Nageen Sherani spent most of her free time getting to know her outdoors community. A few blocks down from where her site mate and she live is a community golf course, encircled by a narrow, paved road. The road is busy most mornings and evenings with groups of elderly and young people walking, jogging or simply people-watching. One morning, Nageen decided to join these diligent groups of physical fitness enthusiasts for an early morning jog and hasn’t looked back since. As a regular herself now, she encounters familiar faces from the neighborhood and sometimes even students from her school. For Nageen, spending time outdoors has been an informal yet exciting way for her to be a part of the local community and to rejuvenate for another busy semester at school.
