Ian is teaching at MAN 2 Kabupaten in Gorontalo. He recently graduated from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania with majors in History and Math-Economics. He taught English to German kids while in high school in Munich, and he continued to tutor writing throughout college, when he also studied in Turkey and England. Ian’s role on the college newspaper used up most of his time while studying, but he has also academically researched the press on five continents. Fun fact: Ian has played drums, volunteered, and done journalism in four countries. He wanted to teach in Indonesia because he wants to do useful work on the ground and highlight an important region that is not often highlighted. Between teaching English classes, Ian hopes to explore Gorontalo, learn Indonesian, and play some music.
