On January 28, ETA Nageen Sherani attended a colorful and lively Indonesian wedding of a teacher-friend from the school with some of her students and fellow teachers. The wedding day started early morning with a three hour religious ceremony followed by food, a reception and more food. It was exciting for Nageen to be a part of the event and also notice similarities between the Indonesian wedding and the weddings of different cultures she has attended before. Similar to most weddings she had attended back home, everyone was dressed to impress, this time in their fanciest batik. The music was lively and the food was abundant. Naturally, the party ended when the food was finished but overall, it was a both an interesting and exciting cultural learning experience!
