Happy International Education Week! November 18 – 22 was a week to celebrate all things international education and cultural exchange, which basically sums up the Fulbright ETA grant duties. The space in ETA Michelle Nguyen’s high school that desires the most cultural exchange is the English Debate Club. Not only are these students eager to learn English, but they are also motivated to learn and speak about international issues that force them to become educated beyond the boundaries of their own national identity. These students have dreams to go abroad and Michelle hopes that she can contribute to their dreams by encouraging them to apply to various cultural exchange opportunities and giving them space to learn more about how they can take their Salatiga roots to share and learn outside of Indonesia. Michelle has learned so much from them over these past few months!

Michelle Nguyen is currently teaching at SMKN 2 Salatiga, Central Java.
