Sarah recently graduated from Rice University with majors in English and French Studies and a minor in Biochemistry & Cell Biology. Throughout college, she tutored students in local Houston high schools, and these students inspired her to apply for a Fulbright ETA grant to continue teaching and learning from her students.

Sarah is grateful for this opportunity to explore Indonesia and learn about its cultures, especially because her mother immigrated from Java as a child. She is excited to learn Bahasa Indonesia, develop her skills as a teacher, and make friendships in her new community.  As a Fulbright ETA in Indonesia, Sarah is most excited to celebrate education, language, and the friendships each can promote.

For her Fulbright ETA program, Sarah will be placed at Central Java where she will co-teach at SMAN 1 Demak.
