February marked the month of school trips for students in the tourism program at SMK Stella Maris Labuan Bajo. ETA Arshelle Carter was lucky enough to accompany the tenth grade students on an oversea trip to Rinca and Kelor islands, and the eleventh grade students on an overland trip to Bajawa.
The students practiced to become future tour guides as Arshelle acted as a tourist. The students enthusiastically told her fun facts about Komodo dragons and pointed out popular sites across Flores Island. The students also took advantage of the opportunity to observe and hear from local guides who explained the history of Bena village, Soa Hot Spring and other sites.
Arshelle was glad to share this experience with her students and looks forward to more fun adventures over the next three months!
Arshelle Carter is currently teaching at SMK Stella Maris, Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara
