Wildan Firdaus is pursuing his doctoral degree in civil engineering at Purdue University. His main interest is in airborne LiDAR survey and data processing, which he sees as a solution for creating large-scale topographical maps for Indonesia

He is a mapping surveyor at Geospatial Information Agency (BIG) in Bogor.

He received his bachelor’s degree in geodesy and geomatics engineering from Bandung Institue of Technology and his masters in geoinformation technology from the University of New South Wales.

Upon completion of the doctoral degree program, he intends to return to BIG as a researcher as well as teaching at a university.
