On Thursday, November 14, ETA Joseph “Joe” Janik Miller moderated a debate in his eleventh-grade mathematics and natural science class at National High School 1 Padangsidimpuan. SMK 1 Holds English Singing Competition for International Education Week
For International Education Week, the students at SMK 1 Beringin competed for the best English song performance. Over thirty students competed in the event, where spectators listened to everything from Celine Dion to Creed. The ETA role is normally centered around high school students, but sometimes ETAs find themselves engaging in meaningful interactions with the older and younger people in their areas. Teaching a language allows educators to get creative with the content and materials used to teach a new topic.
