What Our Readers Say

We asked readers what their favorite stories are from October and November 2017 newsletters. Here're are their response - edited for clarity and brevity.

  • My favorite highlights article is "What Does Everyone Wear in America?" Because from the article, I like being in the position of ETA Sam where I have to adapt to new environment, new culture, new people and all new things that are very foreign.

  • The article I love the most is Mr. Jam's story entitled "Can You Feel the Love?!"“… the photos … shows that there is no gap between Mr. Jam's, the teachers, and the students. I love the way the teacher and students in the school treats Mr. Jam. They want Mr. Jam to feel no difference of being new teacher to the school.

  • "English Club Makes Their Own American Food", led by Elena Dietz that is currently teaching at SMK N 4 Malang, East Java, is interesting for me as I love cooking in class. Culinary experiences always please everyone.

Dhona – Community College Initiative Program 2013-3014 grantee

  • ETA Elena Dietz and "English Club Makes their Own American Food" is such an awesome activity because I often making food by myself at home that's why I can't imagine if I could make local food nor foreign food at school with my friends. I hope that one day my school will send an invitation to Aminef for asking and ETA to come at my school.

    Putra – Pemalang, Central Java

  • I love Monthly Highlights November 2017.  I am a volunteer in Kelas Inspirasi Yogyakarta, and in the community we commonly make A Dream Tree just like Nageen Sherani’s “The Giving Tree”. Besides sharing on how to do a book analysis and report, Nageen Sherani tried to encourage students to have a reading habit and how to read and understand well, which is hardly found in Indonesia teaching routines. Yet, this is exactly what students’ need, because reading in Indonesia is not very common to do, in which this can lead to no good. Thus, I would like to thank Nageen Sherani for contributing in Indonesia’s education.
